As technology progresses, this author believes the Army continues to produce general officers who are not sufficiently trained to succeed. While there are many explanations for the Army’s incessant failures in this region, the generals bear the ultimate responsibility. Although it is common to compare military generals to corporate CEOs, these comparisons are not supported by empirical evidence. Army generals are woefully undereducated in STEM, science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, compared to top CEOs.
