Navy SEALs’ third heavy combatant craft set for summer delivery | Seapower Magazine

Must Read

This summer, the third Sealion combatant craft currently designed for the Navy’s SEALs will be delivered, bringing the craft up to Full Operational Capability. The low-profile Sealion, officially known as the Combatant Craft – Heavy (CCH), is intended to help special operations forces with long-range intrusion and retrieval capacities. The detectors and connectivity antennas on the 80-foot-long Sealion can be retracted. Jet Skis, inflatable rubber raiding craft, and diving gear can be held and deployed out the stern. The craft will fit inside a C-17 transport plane. Under a $17 million deal struck in 2017, this was the first CCH designed from the ground up for SOCOM.
