Afghanistan withdrawal pace increases with five bases handed over | Air Force Magazine

Must Read

The military withdrawal from Afghanistan is clearly speeding up, with five facilities already transferred to the Afghan government. In addition, approximately 115 C-17 loads of material are flown out of the region already. According to US Central Command, over 5,000 pieces of material have also been handed over to the Defense Logistics Agency for disposal. According to CENTCOM, about 13 and 20% of the total retrograde phase has been accomplished so far. This new update represents a major improvement over the previous CENTCOM announcement, which stated that only one base had been turned over to the Afghan army a week prior.
