During his keynote address at the virtual 2021 Special Operations Forces Industry Conference, Army Gen. Richard Clarke said that as the war in Afghanistan draws to a close, a new opportunity for SOCOM emerges. To plan for the future, the command must adapt to emerging risks now that the nation’s longest war is nearing its end. According to him, SOCOM should streamline in order to address both demands and challenges.
