Select Marine rifle squads will soon be testing the latest night-vision goggles. Currently, the Marines are equipped with over 195 pairs of the Army’s Enhanced Night Vision Goggle-Binocular, or ENVG-B. The Marines are yet to determine whether or not to adopt the new night-vision goggles. Still, they are undertaking a series of tests to assess both the Army’s Enhanced Night Vision Goggle-Binocular and the Marine Corps Squad Binocular Night Vision Goggles. According to sources, the Army’s night-vision system uses a network to exchange data and provide a general operational image, allowing soldiers to improve their marksmanship at all times of the day and night.
