US military trashes unwanted gear in Afghanistan, sells as scrap | Military Times

As they are getting closer to leaving the country, the US military is destroying their portion of nearby Bagram Air Base to guarantee that equipment does not slip into terrorist possession. They are specifically destroying everything they do not want to take home or offer to the Afghan military as a security measure. However, scrap sellers around Bagram are upset, claiming it is “a betrayal of Afghans.”
