The FBI arrested a Chinese man last month for forming a fictitious US Army unit and trying to recruit foreigners with the assurance of US citizenship. Yupeng Deng issued his recruits with ACU digital camouflage uniforms, toured them to the USS Midway, and also had them march in a Los Angeles suburb. Deng dubbed his unit the “US Army/Military Special Forces Reserve Unit (MSFR),” and he assumed the role of “Supreme Commander” for himself. The Chinese citizen has over 100 victims, and he has been charging between $300 and $450 per “recruitment.”
