Crash In Iraq helps unmask secretive ultra-quiet special operations drone program | The Drive

An unmanned plane crash at Erbil International Airport in Iraq last year has unveiled a secretive Special Operations drone program. The program, called Long Endurance Aircraft Program (LEAP), has been flying a new type of drone that is extremely quiet and has an innocuous outward appearance in the Middle East. The crash that happened on July 24, 2020, was due to a sudden and unexpected pitch nose down while coming in to land at the airport after a sortie.
