Air Force quietly ends program allowing retired pilots to return to service | Military.com

Must Read

Retired pilots can now go back to service after the US Air Force quietly canceled its Voluntary Retired Return to Active Duty Program (VRRAD). VRRAD started in 2017, intending to fill flight staff positions with those who had prior pilot experience and expertise. This has allowed more active-duty pilots to focus on training and missions. Within the three-year program, VRRAD has received 326 applications, and 120 pilots were approved to return.
