Oman’s spectacular ‘Norway of Arabia’ | BBC Travel

Must Read

Found in northern Oman, Kumzar is a small village that has developed its own language and culture due to how isolated it is. The village can only be accessed by an hour-long speedboat ride or a 2.5-hour trip on a sailing dhow from the nearest city, Khasab. The geography of the place makes it so unique as it is located on a tiny coastal exclave of Oman, separated from the rest of the country by 100km of the UAE’s rocky desert.
