MI5 warns of spies using LinkedIn to trick staff into spilling secrets | BBC News

To educate government workers or those with access to sensitive information to be careful, MI5 has launched a campaign against spies called “Think Before You Link.” The campaign was launched due to the increasing fake profiles linked to hostile states, on the professional social network LinkedIn, over the past five years. In the UK alone, 10,000 have been approached, including staff in virtually every government department and key industries.
