Biden selects first woman four-star admiral for the Coast Guard | Defense News

The US Coast Guard is set to have its first woman become a four-star admiral in the service after President Joe Bidden has nominated Coast Guard Vice Adm. Linda Fagan to the role of a vice commandant. Fagan is the head of the Coast Guard’s Pacific area of operations, which has served on all seven continents. Once confirmed, she will be replacing Adm. Charles Ray and will be the first woman to be promoted to a four-star rank in the Coast Guard.
