Peter Dutton overrules decision to strip medals from SAS soldiers who served in Afghanistan | The Guardian

Peter Dutton, the new defense minister in Australia, has overruled its decision to strip the meritorious unit citation of more than 3,000 soldiers unless they are convicted of war crimes. In an interview, Dutton said that they shouldn’t be punishing the 99% for the sins of the 1%. The soldiers who almost lost their medals were apart of the Special Operations Task Groups who served in Afghanistan between 2007 and 2013.
