DOJ asks Supreme Court to decline to hear suit claiming all-male draft is discriminatory | The Hill

Must Read

As a possible lawsuit alleging that America’s all-male military draft is discriminatory, the Department of Justice has urged the Supreme Court to turn down the said lawsuit. The all-male military draft is seen as unconstitutional discrimination based on sex by the American Civil Liberties Union. According to the Department of Justice, the petition should be declined as lawmakers are “actively considering” the scope of the national registration requirement. The issue boils down to the legality of an all-male draft after the Defense Department in 2013 lifted the ban on women serving in combat roles.
