19 years ago, two Canadian snipers were able to set back-to-back records for the longest-range kill during the first major battle in Afghanistan. This happened just a few weeks after the September 11 attacks when US forces were in Afghanistan fighting Al Qaeda and their Taliban hosts. The attack came as a surprise as the US military took the unconventional route. Canada, a steadfast ally of the US, was one of the first to commit troops to fight Al Qaeda and the Taliban.
