The COVID-10 pandemic has put everyone in a difficult situation, including soldiers and their families. Even before the pandemic, soldiers and their families have always been sacrificing – from unexpected deployment to moving into another place, etc. The situation made taking care of children and providing them with learning opportunities even more challenging than before. It requires extra cost too. With this, the U.S. Army’s official non-profit organization, Army Emergency Relief, or AER, is helping Army families cope with the COVID-19 challenges. Army families in need can receive a grant, which does not need to be repaid. Those who can avail of the program include active-duty and retired troops, surviving spouses, and Reserve and National Guard soldiers.
