Must Read

For the first time ever, Fort Stewart is sending an all-female team to compete in the Best Sapper Competition. Specifically, 1st Lt. Trish Burden and 2nd Lt. Amanda Atkinson of the Third Infantry Division will be competing for the title of the Army’s best-skilled combat engineering duo this May 1-4 in Missouri. The Best Sapper Competition tests the different skills of combat engineering teams which they have learned in the Army’s Sapper Leader Course for enlisted combat engineers and engineering officers. It involves passing through 50 miles in 50 hours on limited sleep while carrying more than 80 pounds of gear.
