In Afghanistan, the choice isn’t withdraw or endless war | Foreign Policy

In a CIA analysis published in the New York Times last March 26th, it was said that the current Afghan government would collapse and the Taliban could take over if the U.S. withdrew its forces from the country. This has led to the question, should the U.S. stay or not? Instead of withdrawing its forces, the U.S. can continue but limit its counterterrorism commitment in Afghanistan. This way, al Qaeda is prevented from regrouping, and that the Islamic State will not spread its wings.
