In such cases, the sudden change of routine especially in training causes unexpected pain, specifically in the lower leg, commonly referred to as shin splints. Shin splint is the pain felt along the front of your lower leg, at the shin bone, which can occur due to various training conditions. Some of the most common factors that cause shin splints include change of training, different footwear, current running volume, and running surface.
