One of the major concerns during the Cold War was a nuclear confrontation between the U.S. and the Soviet Union. With the nuclear arms race becoming more serious, Green Berets had to train on how to carry those nukes to their targets without triggering an all-out nuclear war. Green Light Teams, which are composed of specially trained Green Berets tasked to deploy to NATO or Warsaw Pact countries secretly. They have primarily carried the MK-54 SADM, which weighs almost 60 pounds and could fit in a large rucksack.
