After 20 years of relentless counterterrorism missions, SOCOM is taking a new leap with its plan to recruit more women and people of color to adapt to the “era of great power competition.” Specifically, SOCOM came up with the Diversity and Inclusion Strategic Plan, which serves as a guide for more sustainable action in increasing the troops’ diversity. There is no specific target yet, but the 20-page plan details where SOCOM is headed.
