Spc. James A. Requenez, a 28-year-old Army Ranger, died on Thursday during the ‘swamp phase’ of Ranger School training in Florida. Requenez was Alpha Company’s assistant machine gunner. Alpha Company is the 3rd Battalion of the 75th Ranger Regiment, a special operations unit based in Fort Benning, Georgia. Further investigation of the case is still ongoing and the cause of death has yet to be released.
