Air Force investing in alternative energy sources | National Defense

With the advancement of clean and efficient energy regulations, the military is doing its part as well in decreasing emissions and reducing fuel consumption. Specifically, the U.S. Air Force and Space Force are investing in alternative energy sources to prepare for current and future energy challenges. The Air Force has invested in four key S&T efforts, including advanced engine concepts, weight and power reduction, advanced or alternative fuels, and batteries. They are looking for new materials that can improve fuel efficiency and provide significant structural weight savings as well.
