Last year, a deal between the US and the Taliban was made, wherein the US would withdraw 2,500 American troops by May 1, 2021, in exchange for the Taliban not doing any harm in the country. As the deadline comes closer, the new administration is set to make a very important decision – would it pull out 2,500 American troops, or would it reverse the course? If the current administration will choose the latter, the United States’ longest war might be prolonged more and could potentially damage the government and the people of both countries involved.
