A year ago, top Marine officials announced that it would be shifting into a Navy-centric warfighting role. This means that they’ll be going through changes, including the elimination of the Marine tanks. The changes have been implemented quickly that 425 tanks have been disposed of right after the initial overhaul announcement. Another 323 tanks were transferred last December 2020, and the remaining tanks are scheduled to be transferred by 2023.
