U.S. Air Force fighter jets, specifically the US Air Force F-15Es and F-16s, have been used to support the Iraqi troops in a recent attack against ISIS targets in the Makmour mountains. According to Army Col. Wayne Marotto, spokesman for Combined Joint Task Force-Operation Inherent Resolve, the move was approved by the Prime Minister of Iran. All in all, the coalition jets and the Iraqi air force and army aviation units have destroyed 120 hideouts and positions and killed 27 “terrorists.”
