Specifically, the unclassified assessment, which was released last Wednesday, the attack is coming from lone offenders and small cells that have all subscribed to a diverse set of violent ideologies. The report also warns combing factors, such as presidential election conspiracy theories and COVID-19, “will almost certainly spur some DVEs to try to engage in violence this year.”
