Unarmed Army Ranger confronts a shotgun-wielding robber during Sunday brunch | Army Times

Must Read

It was one Sunday morning in 2019 when Staff Sgt. Russell Ruth became a hero to many after saving diners and restaurant staff from a robber with a shotgun. Ruth was out for breakfast that day when he heard a scream at the back, followed by staff in horror. He then noticed a man waving a sawed-off shotgun, yelling, “This is a robbery, nobody move!” When the robber went out of the hallway with the restaurant owner, he told everyone to leave then went back inside with nothing but himself. The robber’s accomplice shot him, wherein the shotgun left DNA to trace the robbers. Today, the robbers had both been sentenced to 10-year prison terms.
