Over the past years, private security contracting has become a big industry not just in the U.S. but worldwide as governments and private organizations strengthen their security measures. Such security measures include everything from armed mobile security to static security and executive protection. While seen necessary, the industry also has its fair share of criticisms, especially to those who view it as a privatization of the military, believing that the state should maintain a monopoly on the legitimate use of violence.
