Here’s your first look at the Army’s futuristic new sniper scope in action | Task & Purpose

With photos of soldiers testing a next-generation thermal sniper rifle optic, the Army has given everyone a sneak peek of its new Family of Weapon Sights-Sniper (FWS-S) connected on top of M107 and M2010 Enhanced Sniper Rifle systems. According to PEO Soldiers spokesman Justin Sweet FWS-S, it is currently in the Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD) Phase of Acquisition. Public information concerning FWS-S fielding is yet available. The next-generation thermal sniper rifle optic provide snipers with thermal imagery in all weather conditions and can be mounted to an M107, M2010, and M110 Semi-Automatic Sniper System and Compact Semi-Automatic Sniper System
