Over the years, it has stayed true to its mission to provide combat-ready forces for rapid reinforcement of the other unified commands worldwide. The unit also never failed to provide command, control, and training for all special operations forces in the United States. Given the crucial role that it plays, USSOCOM was empowered with limited service-like authorities and capabilities. With this, USSOCOM got its budget and was given the authority for SOF-peculiar acquisition, technology, and logistics.
