In a Feb. 18 announcement, the Marine Corps has already started fielding a new rifle optic, specifically the Squad Common Optic, or SCO for the M4 and M4A1 carbines and the M27 Infantry Automatic Rifle. The new rifle optic is designed to adjust for close and long-range targets for more precise shooting that is twice better than the 4X fixed-power Rifle Combat Optic. It requires no tools, which makes it easy to mount alongside reducing the weight the Marines have to carry. The Squad Common Optic is made by Trijicon.
