Wearing the uniform he hasn’t worn more than half a century, retired Sgt. 1st Class Marvin Cornett has finally received his medals at the age of 99. Cornett is a World War II veteran who should have received his Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal back in 1944, making the medals past-due for 77 years. Cornett received the award at American Legion Post 84 in Auburn, California on Monday.
