The Pentagon needs budget agility to compete with China | Defense One

Given how powerful China is, the Pentagon is seeking higher budget allocation to acquire needed equipment and specialized training. The Pentagon’s budget is known to be inflexible, but to be able to compete against China, the troop is expected to have a higher budget. With this, the Pentagon is set to reprogram the budget from one category to another, which is only possible only if at least four Congressional committees approve the request. In the last decades, the Congress has been trying to fix the Pentagon’s acquisition process, making it the perfect time to start reforming resource allocation.
