In the last decade, the U.S. has been able to draw down its forces in Afghanistan as a part of the agreement they have with the Taliban group. But the Taliban has failed to do its part as violence is increasing in most parts of the country. In the deal between the government troops and the Taliban, all U.S. forces should return home by May 1, with certain conditions. With everything going on around, it is very clear that conditions do not permit a full withdrawal and should look for a meaningful conclusion first, with the right conditions in place before finally departing.
