In an announcement made Thursday, Pres. Joe Biden said that all American support for offensive operations in the war in Yemen would be stopped. Still, the support for Saudi Arabia’s self-defense from “Iranian-supplied forces” will continue. The president didn’t clear up what the extent is. Additionally, Biden also said that the United States is also stopping “relevant arms sales,” including precision-guided munitions. The civil war in Yemen, which started six years ago, has caused a devastating humanitarian crisis with famine and cholera everywhere in the country.
