Airmen receive Bronze Stars for stemming COVID-19 outbreak at Afghanistan base | Stars & Stripes

Capt. Kathleen Schurr and Capt. Katie Coble, together with Master Sgt. Brandon Hockenbarger has been awarded Bronze Stars for their efforts in stemming the coronavirus outbreak in NATO headquarters in Kabul. In NATO, the coronavirus outbreak reached a 30% infection rate last summer, with over 200 infected people. Together with other members of the medical team, the three have successfully dropped the infection rate near zero.
