GOP lawmakers question continued presence of National Guard at Capitol | Military Times

After the inauguration of Pres. Joe Biden, National Guards were still deployed at the Capitol which captures the attention of lawmakers. In a statement issued by Arkansas Sen. Tom Cotton, “the guardsmen should leave the Capitol grounds as soon as possible since there’s no specific, credible threat reporting that justifies this continued troop presence.” Accordingly, National Guard leaders are preparing to extend their Capitol Hill mission into March.
