Facebook users’ phone numbers are reportedly for sale on Telegram | Consumer Affairs

A Telegram bot has claimed to pull over 500 million phone numbers from Facebook in 2019. Now, those phone numbers are being sold which can give a hacker access to a person’s Facebook user ID. The person who discovered the breach claims the bot has been selling the numbers for the last two weeks. “It is very worrying to see a database of that size being sold in cybercrime communities, it harms our privacy severely and will certainly be used for smishing and other fraudulent activities by bad actors,” Gal, co-founder and CTO of cybersecurity firm Hudson Rock stated.
