Lockheed-Boeing team pitch Defiant X, its candidate for the Army’s long-range assault helo competition | Defense News

Lockheed Martin-owned Sikorsky and Boeing finally unveiled their collaboration piece, the Defiant X. The Defiant X is the modified version of the SB-1 Defiant. According to the companies involved, this is a competition-ready aircraft, which will be submitted to the U.S. Army’s Future Long-Range Assault (FLRAA) competition. The Defiant X has tricycle-style landing gear and a sharper nose cone to reduce thermal signature and improve aerodynamic handling.
