The Air Force has revised the dress and appearance standards for female Airmen, allowing them to braid or ponytail their hair. They will be allowed to have bangs too as long as it will not cover their eyes. The new dress and appearance standard is a result of their crowd-sourcing campaign on how they can improve their dress and appearance rules in the hopes of sustaining their field as an attractive career choice for airmen and families. On the other hand, men are still not allowed to wear beard, unless for medical or religious reasons.
