Off the California coast, the US Navy tests hunting subs with an aerial drone | Defense News

The U.S. Navy and General Atomics have successfully tested using aerial drones to hunt submarines. The demonstration was held in November and is considered the first successful operation of its kind. This was conducted as part of the Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command’s joint research and development project. If the project is successful, the cost of submarine-hunting will become relatively lower.
