US to resume processing thousands of stalled visas for Afghans who aided Americans | Stars & Stripes

Thousands of visas for Afghans who helped United States forces will begin being processed in the U.S. Embassy in Kabul again. These special visa applications have been stalled since March 2020 due to the coronavirus. A State Department official noted that in-person interviews will begin to take place in February. Over 7,000 special visas allocated to Afghans by Congress this past year went unissued.
