After training changes, Air Force SERE School sees near-historic low attrition | Military.com

After changing the training style and culture at the SERE curriculum’s toughest level, 26 of 28 students of the Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape Specialist (SERE) has finished the course with flying colors. The class has set the lowest attrition rate after a long time of having half of almost all the previous batches washed out during the final apprenticeship course. The SERE course begins in an orientation, followed by indoctrination, and finally, apprenticeship wherein students go through the most intensive training that will set them ready in the field. The course includes land navigation, personnel recovery, and combat. All in all, the course covers 13 phases and lasts for 6 months.
