Dr. Brittany Bankhead-Kendall, a Texas trauma surgeon, highlights an image comparison of a Post-COVID lungs is much worse than a smoker’s lungs. She points out that patients who have had COVID-19 symptoms show a severe chest X-ray every time, and those who were asymptomatic show a severe chest X-ray 70% to 80% of the time. The surgeon highly advised that if you’re experiencing shortness of breath after recovery from COVID-19 that you stay in touch with your primary care doctor.
