Green Beret earns Soldier’s Medal for aiding retired Army Ranger | Stars & Stripes

Lt. Col. Larry Wyatt, a clinic director with Special Operations Command, was on a bike ride with retired Ranger Col. Thomas Wells when they were hit by two motorcycles. Both men were hit at around 50 mph and knocked unconscious. Despite obtaining several injuries himself, including a broken nose, cracked teeth, and several large cuts, Wyatt stabilized Wells and called 911. Gen. Richard D. Clarke, commander, U.S. Special Operations Command, has now awarded Wyatt with the Soldier’s Medal for his selfless actions that helped save two people.
