A different kind of India unfolds in the state of Mizoram. Located in the north-east region of India, Zinara Rathnayake recalls that it feels like a different country to the rest of the nation. Aside from the scenic view, people practice the value of Tlawmngaihna which is passed on from one generation to another. “At the very basic level, it means being honest, kind and helpful to others. But on a larger level, it’s about being selfless. You are putting community over self,” explained Golan Naulak, programme director at Integrated Mountain Initiative.
