John Moses Browning is often known as a gunsmith, but he was also an inventor, innovator, and one of the most successful firearm designers in the world. He can be considered the father of modern firearms and is responsible for many lever-action, pump-action, and auto-loading weapons. John learned gunsmithing from his father, who encouraged him to explore manufacturing and engineering. He created his first firearm at the age of 11, and he shot several prairie chickens soon after finishing it.
