The 6th Air Refueling Wing at MacDill Air Force Base has received an initial shipment of COVID-19 vaccine for distribution following U.S. Department of Defense guidelines, said a spokesman. The department’s distribution plan will prioritize healthcare workers and high-risk populations, followed by those working in “critical national capabilities and other essential workers.” Those on active duty, reservists and select Department of Defense civilians and contract employees, along with military healthcare beneficiaries including family members and veterans, are authorized for the immunizations, according to a Facebook post by the base medical group
