US Army Rangers were on the first units to deploy against al-Qaeda and the Taliban after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. On October 19, 2001, A Company, 3rd Ranger Battalion, jumped into Afghanistan known as Objective Rhino. Since then Rangers have been fighting alongside other special operations forces including SEAL Team 6 and Delta Force. The 75th Ranger Regiment has now surpassed 7,000 days of being deployed to fight terrorism overseas and continues to do so.
